Struffoli – Italian Honey Balls

Ingredients
  • 3 Eggs
  • 5 1/2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons Baking powder
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 5 tablespoons Milk
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 4-5 cups Flour (sifted)
  • Vegetable Oil (for frying)
  • Honey and nonpareils for decorating (little candy sprinkles)
Instructions
  1. Mix 1/2 cup flour and baking powder together -set aside
  2. Mix remainder of flour in a bowl
  3. Beat together eggs, oil, sugar, salt, vanilla and milk in a separate bowl
  4. Make well in center of flour bowl, pour in egg mixture and remaining flour/ baking powder mixture.
  5. Knead together to form soft dough
  6. Roll out in small strips, cut in 1/2 inch pieces or whatever size you want.
  7. Deep fry in vegetable oil
  8. Drain on paper towel
Note

Store in an airtight container, When ready to serve, place in dish, mound high, Warm honey in the microwave for a few seconds, pour over Struffoli, decorate with candy sprinkles. Enjoy.
